Lawyers for a man who allegedly threw his daughter to her death from Melbourne's West Gate Bridge have taken steps to free up his assets to fund his legal fees.
Darcey Iris Freeman, 4, died after her father Arthur Phillip Freeman, of Hawthorn, allegedly threw her off the West Gate bridge to waters almost 60 metres below in January.
She died from injuries in hospital several hours later.
Freeman is charged with her murder.
In March, a court order imposed by the Melbourne Magistrates' Court placed a restraining order over Freeman's property.
On Monday, Freeman's lawyers took steps in the same court to ensure Legal Aid would be able to apply to use his assets to fund his legal costs.
Magistrate Lance Martin ruled that once the restraining order over Freeman's property was lifted, Legal Aid must first be reimbursed for his legal costs before he can deal with the property.
Freeman's case is listed to return to court on May 21 for a committal mention.
