Barry Williams and Warwick Marsh: Another Embarrassing Appearence

Warwick and Barry were the founders(1) of the Fatherhood Coalition, who made unfounded statements such as, "Many experts believe that over half of the men’s suicides reported have a direct link to the injustice of the Family Law Court and Child Support Agency."(2)   Who can forget his embarrassing appearance in the media defending his name on the anti gay publication, "21 reasons why Gender Matters" and his support in the petition that condemns Amnesties work on Violence against women?  It had become an uproar after Nicola Roxon had appointed Barry Williams and Warwick Marsh as "Mens Health Ambassadors".  Many had wrote or spoke about how their values do not represent a broad spectrum of men.

Now, Barry has stated without any research or any statistics that, "Australian dads were more advanced on their children's nutrition and educational needs than US fathers."
Given the history of US Family Courts versus American Family Courts where Australia followed suit in divorce trends only recently catching up on joint parenting, I doubt any statistics could be tampered with to concoct research that would back this statement.  Not even the doctors note store could help us out with that one.  Americas first joint custody law was passed in Indiana in 1973.  Considering that the Australian Shared Parenting Bill began in 2005, Australian fathers have a long way to go to catch up with US fathers.

Meanwhile, after Warwick was kicked off the mens health committee, he has been lowering himself to some rather disgraceful attempts to boycott mothers day. It begins with a statement that "mothers are undervalued" despite the constant rhetoric over the years on "fatherlessness" and the negative impact on children which really undervalues the work not only of single mothers and widowed mothers, but also of his own mother.
His perception of his family background is quite disturbing, "Friction in the family caused him to spend half of his early childhood away from his father. At age 10 he was almost put in a protective institution because of continual parental war at home".  The video finishes with how dads are important in children's lives.  Imagine the outrage if a commercial were to air beginning with fathers day appreciation and then half way through it cuts out to say "Mothers are important in children's lives".   The Fathers Rights would be screaming blue murder.  The mothers day video featuring fathers, is an example of many fathers rights groups seeking to involve and monopolize mothers to act for them.  Many preaching Parent Alienation Syndrome as if it came from the bible.  The strategy resembles the underhanded tactics used in the process of corporate takeovers with the ultimate goal in mind: Monopolize the market.  The incentives and opportunities that were available for consumers that still have a choice are always magnitude until the competition is eliminated and then sets in the totalitarianism.
