Human Rights Council Concerned about the Treatment of Women and Children in Family Law
A full day was held on women and equal access before the law. Amongst the many violations, arose the abhorrent practices in family law. It was recognized the lack if equal access for women in child custody cases. The burden of proof involving rape was also mentioned. It was revealed that many women were prevented from further pursuing justice in concern for reprisal and their economical status. Domestic and sexual violence were discriminated against.
